We are recruiting! Here is a rare opportunity to join the team, either in a part-time, assistant cafe managing role, or on the strategic leadership team. Read on for more information.

Assistant Cafe Manager

To take on managing the cafe for one full day (Thursday or Friday) and Saturday morning. You will manage the cafe, oversee service of food and drink within the cafe to customers, lead and supervise a group of volunteers with varied experience levels and delegating tasks in the busy cafe. The Assistant Cafe Manager has a vital role to play not just in the day to day operations of running of the cafe but also, together with the wider REfUSE team, to make progress on our strategic plan to transform our food system by helping individuals to see the current problems and  be empowered to make changes and speak up for change.  We are looking for someone who believes in our core aims, will embody our values, and wants to help create a welcoming and inclusive food surplus cafe.

PART TIME 12 Hours per week. For more information and to apply:

General Manager

We are recruiting a General Manager to oversee the running of our busy cafe and the delivery of our key strategic actions by bringing together the many hands and voices that make up REfUSE.

Our vision is to reveal the true value of things, places and people that are unjustly wasted or overlooked, and the General Manager will play a critical role in making the most of the valuable resources we have. We are looking for someone who believes in our core aims and wants to help the REfUSE community thrive.

You’ll oversee all those who work on the café and warehouse site, as well as having overall responsibility for the running of the buildings. The on-site café staff will come under your management, including those running our restaurant nights and events, volunteer support, induction and inclusion work. It’s a hands-on role which will require you to be working from the café, warehouse and our new office space, most days. You will be part of the Coordination Team (i.e., the Senior Leadership Team) that provides strategic oversight of the organisation and has overall responsibility for financial matters, policy, and procedures.
