A restaurant-style dinner with a twist: each plate is inspired and sourced from our surplus food collections which would have been destined for landfill. We rescue it, see the quantity and quality of food deemed ‘worthless’ and re-value it by serving amazing three-course dinners, every week on Thursdays at REfUSE Café, Chester-Le-Street.
Our restaurant nights are so popular and raise awareness and funds for the REfUSE’s work in the community and in tackling food waste. Each evening has a different guest chef and a theme depending on their expertise and passion. Examples include authentic Syrian food cooked by local Syrian refugees; French night including the most amazing Tarte Tatin, and Italian night with homemade pasta and tiramisu.
How much?
Like a ‘supper club’, we have a set price of £20 per head. This includes a three-course meal, and you can bring your own wine or other alcohol. We do have soft drinks and mixers available to purchase on the night and we will provide the Glasses, Corkscrew, Bottle Opener & Ice!
We ask for a deposit of £5, Eventbrite charge their own fee on top of this, if you would like to avoid that you can book in person at our café Tuesday-Saturday. There will then be £15 per ticket to pay on the evening. All money goes towards the food waste-saving work of REfUSE.
