Members of the Grange Villa Growing Club cooked up a meal for the customers of Grange Villa Community shop on Saturday using potatoes, carrots and onions grown on the farm and apples harvested from the farm’s orchard. Three intrepid chefs chopped and prepared roast vegetables and sausages followed by a delicious apple crumble covered with cream from the community shop. The Growing Club meets every fortnight in Grange Villa to grow produce and prepare food using food they have grown, foraged or received from REfUSE. The Community Shop is supplied by REfUSE who intercept perfectly good food from supermarkets and wholesalers that would otherwise have been thrown away as so-called “waste”.
