Please read the below statement…
We love our community, and we are really mindful of the struggle, anxiety and stress we are all facing in these uncertain times. Our café is welcome to all, as always, with warming food and listening ears. Our “Pay As You Feel” model is all about challenging us to re-value food that has wrongly been labelled ‘worthless’, but it is also about valuing every person that eats our food. Just by doing so you are helping to reduce waste, and you are valued not by the coins in your pockets but by the unique skills, talents, energy and time that you can contribute.
Did you know that our Restaurant Nights are one of the main sources of funding for the work we do?
Our team of volunteers produce outstanding menus, meals and entertainment every Thursday. But just like the rest of our community, we are starting to feel the impact of the cost of living crisis and sadly over the last month we have started to see a drop in ticket sales at our Restaurant Night events.
We understand that times are hard, and we want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to carry on the work we do behind the scenes, while also doing our bit to help our community.
So, with that in mind, there are three ways you can get involved…
- If you are in a position where you are able to book onto one of our Restaurant Nights and support us that way, please check out our upcoming events here or pop into the cafe. Tickets are £17.50 per person for 3 courses.
- If you can’t make the dates or times of our events, but feel able to support us financially you can make a donation here which will go directly back into our community work, “paying it forward” for others to eat with us. Please include the reference “Restaurant Night Donation”
- And if, like us, you are starting to feel the effects of the current crisis, and £17.50 per person isn’t affordable for you and your family, let our community help. Fill in this form, and explain how much you would feel able to pay to be added to a waiting list. Please note that we will seek to accommodate those that we can, but will also have to ensure our own costs are covered.
With love,
The REfUSE Team
