Restaurant nights

On the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month, we host REfUSE Restaurant nights.

A restaurant-style dinner with a twist: all the food we serve would otherwise have been destined for waste. We rescue it, see the quantity and quality of food deemed ‘worthless’ and re-value it by serving amazing three-course dinners, once a month at REfUSE Cafe, Chester-le-Street.

Our restaurant nights are so popular and one of our best ways of raising funds for the cafe’s community work. Each evening has a different guest chef and a theme depending on their expertise and passion. Examples include authentic Syrian food cooked by local Syrian refugees; French night including the most amazing Tarte Tatin, and Italian night with homemade pasta and tiramisu.

The menu will be designed ready-steady cook style with whatever ingredients we rescue from waste that week.

Bookings only: book online via eventbrite or pop in to the cafe to secure your seat, at £5 per person. Food on the evening is Pay As You Feel. Bring your own drinks.

“Just been to their first restaurant night. We had a great evening and beautiful food! The atmosphere was really nice and there was some live piano music as well.
But it is not just about the amazing food and great atmosphere. The idea behind re-f-use is an amazing concept.”  – E. Hob, Google review

  1. Just seen you guys on telly..
Never knew you were on my doorstep-will be paying you a visit
    Great job

  2. I like what you do, and should be congratulated. Time for you to run the catering at the houses of parliament for a week, but without telling our MPs. They need to do something about this growing problem.
